Charming original Penllyn farmhouse of the John Ingersoll estate renovated 60 years ago for a family member keeping antique character with many built-in cabinets and period woodwork. The house sits quietly with many mature trees, a huge secluded lawn reaching south to the bank of Willow Run Creek while facing Wissahickon Valley Watershed conservation lands across the creek as well as to the west. The front hall features an ancient style walk-in fireplace and exits towards the bluestone patio quietly overlooking the vast lawn to the south. The property dimensions allow for expansion of the residence so as to enlarge the kitchen as well as the addition of a garage. During the renovation of 1960 the house was gutted, rebuilt and expanded by a custom builder using the highest quality specifications with exterior walls of the new addition being two stories high of stucco covered block. The original date stone displayed high on the west end of the house gives the year 1731. Another date plaque on the south side gives the year of an expansion in 1813 which more than doubled the size of the house.
